Crosman 1377 American Classic is the next pistol I took a closer look at. I’ve had good experiences with other Crosman products recently, so I was extremely excited about 1377 now. Of course, once again I tried to gather as much information as I could beforehand. This has increased the anticipation even more.
Technical specifications of Crosman 1377 Classic
The power of American Classic can be increased by pumping several times. The manufacturer states that you should pump no more than 10 times. Once you have finished pumping, pull back the bolt action lever and insert a .177 (4.5 mm) caliber pellet into the breech. Once you have deactivated the manual safety and returned the bolt action lever, you can fire the shot by pulling the trigger.
The trigger itself is not adjustable. However, it is of solid quality.
The gun is mostly made of metal. Only the grip and the part for pumping is made of plastic. The workmanship is good.
Customizing the Crosman air pistol
Just like Crosman 2240, for example, Crosman 1377 is a dream for modders and for customizing fans. There are many pictures of redesigned air pistols in relevant forums and Facebook groups. Just as we did with Crosman 2240, I would appreciate it if you would send me pictures of your customized air pistol to servus@airghandi.de. I would then like to attach these for all to see down here in the gallery. I’m excited to see your creativity!
There are even a few add-on parts from Crosman directly. There are the mount for attaching optics, the shoulder stock, and a metal rear sight.
Shooting Crosman 1377
Due to the very long sight line, you can get really good results with Crosman 1377. Aiming is a lot easier than with pistols with a shorter sight line.
Shooters who have problems with spring-piston or pre-compression air pistols will like the convenient and simple pump mechanism. You have to pump more often than with other air pistols, but with far less effort.
The trigger is made of metal and does its job solidly.
The adjustable rear sight can also be removed and rotated 180 degrees. Additionally, there is also an aperture sight.
My conclusion
Crosman 1377 is Made in USA. It is extremely popular there. I think American Classic will be a success especially among modders here as well. No wonder the pistol remains unchanged for almost 45 years.
Once again, an inexpensive Crosman product didn’t disappoint me.
How long have you had your 1377? Have you ever had to repair anything or is everything still in its original condition?
Do you already know the overview of all the air pistols I have reviewed so far and the comparison function? You should take a look at it!
I’m looking forward to your feedback! How did you like today’s review? Does the Crosman 1377 appeal to you or which is your favorite pistol?
Now, thank you very much for reading.
See you next time.
Yours, Andi
