Today I have another really exciting video for you – this time, I’m showing you the AEA Megalodon in .50 caliber.
This air rifle is not for the faint-hearted! In this video, I will show you what the rifle is capable of, which targets I shot at and what you should look out for if you are interested in this extraordinary gun.

What is the AEA Megalodon?
AEA Megalodon is a PCP air rifle in .50 caliber – a real powerhouse!
It is not only a visual highlight, but also impresses with its enormous penetrating power and the quite special handling concept. Anyone who thinks that everything has already been invented for air rifles should definitely take a closer look at the Megalodon.
A special feature is the pump action function. The cycling mechanism works like a classic shotgun – this not only ensures cool handling, but also a fast-firing sequence.
That’s a real special feature!
My configuration in the video
For the shooting video, I equipped the Megalodon with two high-quality accessories:
Firstly, the DonnyFL Emperor silencer is used. It noticeably reduces the powerful sound produced by a .50 caliber rifle – which is particularly nice when shooting regularly at short distances.
Secondly, I fitted the Anschütz Optics Reflex Pro wide – a new brand on the German market that impresses with its excellent build quality and practical features. The fine 2 MOA dot that the reflex sight offers is particularly practical. Most reflex sights work with significantly larger illuminated dots in the 3 to 6 MOA range. This small dot helps enormously in hitting smaller targets cleanly and precisely at shorter distances – ideal for shooting with the Megalodon.
The tests in detail
The rifle was shot at a distance of 9 meters with rubber pellets. This allows for a safe and impressive shooting practice without destroying too much material. The Megalodon provides an excellent combination of power and precision.
I went through three different test phases in the video:
- Precision test: I wanted to know if the gun was perfectly zeroed in for the following tests. I practiced a little in the standing position and was then absolutely happy. The strikes were close together and the fine illuminated dot in the reflex sight definitely helped.
- Rapid fire mode: This is where the pump action really stands out. The mechanics are smooth, easy to handle and allow for quick reloading. It’s simply great fun!
- Aiming at the smallest targets: I tried shooting at particularly small targets – this is always a nice test of the combination of sights, control, and trigger feel.
My impression of the AEA Megalodon
The gun is absolutely exceptional. The .50 caliber, the pump action and the enormous power make it a real highlight in the world of air rifles.
Of course, the Megalodon is not suitable for every purpose. But if you are looking for something special, you will definitely find it here. Whether for training, action videos or simply as a collector’s item: the Megalodon is fun, provides adrenaline and brings variety to everyday shooting.
