Today I’m presenting a new highlight from the world of compressors: the Hill Evo-310 compressor. Anyone who regularly shoots with pneumatic air guns will be familiar with the issue: how do I fill my cartridge quickly, reliably and, above all, quietly?
With the Evo-310, Hill is launching a new generation of compressors on the market that precisely meets these requirements – and does so at the highest technical level.
A real technological leap forward
The Hill Evo-310 is more than just a successor to the EC-3000; it has been revised and further developed in many respects. The most noticeable change concerns the newly developed valves. These not only ensure improved durability and robustness, but also a completely new, significantly more pleasant sound.
The compressor now sounds much richer and quieter, which is particularly noticeable during longer filling processes.
The electronics have also been updated. In addition to the familiar digital pressure sensors, an analog pressure sensor has now also been installed. This has a very practical advantage: the Evo-310 doesn’t need to be recalibrated after maintenance.
This saves time and effort and ensures that the compressor remains ready for use at all times.
More pressure, more control
Another useful update is the extended pressure range. While the previous model could fill up to 300 bar, the Evo-310 can now fill up to 310 bar.
The pressure display has also been optimized: The compressor now displays the current pressure from as little as 20 bar – previously the display threshold was 50 bar.
The compressor is operated as usual using the familiar rotary switch, which now comes in an elegant black finish.
EVO-310: Extremely quiet and low-vibration
One of the biggest highlights of the Evo-310 is its low noise level. At just 75 decibels, it is one of the quietest compressors on the market. This makes it perfect for use at home, in the hobby room or in the workshop – without hearing protection and without stressing out the neighbors.
Stability has also been taken into consideration: the rubberized feet not only ensure a secure hold, but also prevent vibrations from being transferred to the ground. The result is smooth, low-vibration operation – particularly important for sensitive surfaces such as wooden or glass tables.
Performance meets safety
The Hill Evo-310 also impresses with its short filling times. An air pistol with a small cylinder (e.g., from 0 to 250 bar) can be filled in around one minute. An air gun with a 250cc cylinder takes around three minutes, a 500cc cylinder around six minutes.
The compressor is air-cooled and has an intelligent temperature management system. As soon as the temperature of the motor reaches 75 degrees Celsius, the device switches off automatically. After cooling down, it restarts automatically – an important function that increases the service life of the engine. The compressor also switches off automatically when the set target pressure is reached.
Automatic purging with the EVO-310
The intelligent purging system is a real highlight.
As soon as the engine stops, the Evo-310 automatically purges the system. There is a brief hiss, and some condensation is released – a process that relieves the motor and removes moisture from the system. This is particularly important for large cylinders and air guns with a large capacity.
The automatic air purge is also active when the compressor is paused. This not only protects the compressor itself, but also the sensitive technology of your guns.
The focus is on user-friendliness
When the set pressure is reached, the display clearly shows “Fill Complete”. It is completely normal for the pressure to drop by up to five percent after filling – this is due to the cooling of the air and the backflow mechanism in the system.
If you expect this, you can simply set the target pressure a little higher – provided, of course, that the cylinder is designed for this pressure.
My personal recommendation
If you want to protect your pneumatic airguns in the long term, I recommend using the Hill DryPac Pro.
This additional moisture protection ensures that no moisture gets into your gun – an absolute must for anyone who values and cares for their equipment.
Of course, I have also made a video about this, which you can find under the article at www.jabolo.de.
And if you are interested in the predecessor or want to see the difference in more detail, then be sure to watch my video on the Hill EC-3000. It perfectly complements the information about the Evo-310 and gives you a comprehensive picture.
