Today I will show you the Weihrauch HW100 T. An extremely accurate and high-quality air rifle from Weihrauch Sport. I will tell you about the special features, show you many close-ups and of course do an extensive shooting test.
Now I wish you a lot of fun with my post and the video!
The special version in green
Many years ago, in my early days as an air rifle shooter, I had the beautiful special version of Weihrauch HW100 T in a video. At that time, I couldn’t appreciate at all how special and of high quality this rifle is. It was one of the first compressed air rifles I held in my hands. I assumed at the time that the quality, shot feel and finish were the standard.
Now, many years later, having the rifle again, I know better what I’m holding in my hands.
The green synthetic material used for the barrel is extremely high-quality and the feel is absolutely impressing. The rifle has a good grip, even if you sometimes have somewhat sweaty hands in the summer.
Not only the beautiful appearance and hunting design convinced me. Of course, this is a matter of taste. I’m referring rather to the system and the technology that this rifle offers.
I’ll try to explain that to you in more detail now.
The system of Weihrauch HW100 T
Weihrauch HW100 T is a multi-shot compressed air rifle. The cartridge can be filled up to a pressure of 200 bar. Filling the rifle is done easily via the Quickfill connector. For this purpose, only the Quickfill connection cover has to be pulled out. Then the supplied probe can be conveniently pushed into the connector. If you need a pump for this filling method, you will of course find it in my store www.jabolo.de.
Shooters who have a 5/8″ pump or want to fill the cartridge by means of a bottle benefit from the excellent scope of delivery of Weihrauch HW100 T. No expense was spared, and an adapter was also included for this filling method.
The built-in regulator of the rifle ensures that the power output of the rifle is constant at each cartridge pressure. That’s the reason for the outstanding and repeatable precision of Weihrauch HW100 T.
The caliber of the test rifle is .177 (4.5 mm). However, you also have the option to buy the rifle in caliber .22 (5.5 mm) or in the quite exotic option 0.2 (5.0 mm).
I think it’s great that Weihrauch Sport makes sure that the permitted 7.5 joules of the F version is used to its full potential. For all shooters who have a firearm certificate (FAC) and want to have a HW100 registered on it, there are the models in caliber .22 (5.5 mm) with a power of up to 50 joules. With these, extremely precise hits at distances of 100m are easily possible. I’ve already shown a HW100 with this much power on my English-language YouTube channel.
The compact design ensures excellent handling. Nevertheless, the precision is just as good as with the long models.
Shooting with Weihrauch HW100 T
A rifle scope is required to shoot the rifle. Weihrauch HW100 doesn’t have any open sights. There is an 11mm prism rail on the rifle. By means of the included Picatinny rail, you have the possibility to use mounts of this type as well. Of course, you can find the right mount for every scope in my store..
The two enclosed drum magazines have a capacity of 14 rounds each. Once you’ve inserted the drum magazine into the rifle and locked the magazine catch, you’re ready to go.
The two-stage match trigger is excellently adjusted at the factory. Its first stage travel and the clear trigger pull allow you to decide exactly when the shot is supposed to break.
The shot development is quite short, and the pellet leaves the 16.1″ (410mm) barrel without a recoil.
Weihrauch has also included a Biathlon-lever since the 2020 models. The shooters can decide for themselves whether to install it or not. Attaching it isn’t hard at all. A small screw conveniently secures it to the cocking lever. I decided to use this lever because for me, it adds another level of comfort when shooting.
The magazine of Weihrauch HW100 T
HW100’s 14-round drum magazine is one of the easiest and most convenient to use magazines on the market. It is a circular synthetic magazine which is extremely convenient to load.
Many other rifle models have a spring which has to be pre-tensioned before loading the magazine. This always carries the risk that it will eventually fatigue or break.
HW100 T doesn’t have any mechanisms on the magazine for feeding the next pellet. The cocking process is completely built into the rifle. Therefore, a HW100 magazine will accompany you for a lifetime without breaking or wearing out.
The pellets are also easy to load. Simply push them in from the right side. A rubber band then holds them in the proper position.
My conclusion of Weihrauch HW100 T
I’m closely tied to hunting through many of my friends and relatives. Even though I’ll never obtain a hunting license myself or be able to shoot an animal, I find hunting itself very exciting and important. In terms of equipment and clothing, I like practically everything that has to do with it.
This is certainly one of the reasons why I particularly like the green special edition of HW100 T.
This special model will be the perfect match for any shooter who shares my opinion.
After my tests, I’m even more excited about this rifle than I was before. I think you’ve already gathered that from my post and this video:
