Anschütz 9015 Hunting air rifle – My test and review

Anschütz 9015 Hunting is an excellent air rifle. It’s not only for Field Target and Hunter Field Target, in some countries it’s also allowed to use it for small game hunting and pest control.

You probably already know my review of Anschütz 9015 ONE. I have already showed it to you with the ONE stock and then with my Tilly’s Gunstock.

I have received more and more requests to show you the Anschütz 9015 Hunting air rifle. Unfortunately, I can’t always fulfill all requests. However, I make an effort to show you all interesting topics.

Now I can show you Anschütz 9015 Hunting. I bought the hunting stock for my 9015!

The package arrives

When the box arrived, my first thought was: Is there anything in there? Judging by the dimensions, there could have been a gun inside, but it felt like the box was empty.

I quickly opened it and took out the stock. Wow, it’s really light! It weighs less than 1 kg. Fortunately, the box wasn’t empty.

The design and handling of the Hunting stock

Anschütz 9015 Hunting is a very handy and haptically excellent rifle. The air rifle is extremely slim and the thumbhole stock is very comfortable to hold. The stock is designed for right-handed shooters.

The butt plate is smooth and not adjustable.

If you mount the fore-end, which has been developed for air rifle three position competitions, you can mount a bipod or a hamster on the provided UIT rail. A bipod can then be used to shoot accurately at long distances or to hunt (outside of Germany).

The air rifle still remains handy and easy to transport.

Anschütz 9015 Hunting for Field Target

There is no way around a fore-end riser block if you want to shoot well in Field Target. A great feature of Anschütz 9015 Hunting is the modular design and expandability of the system.

I mounted a walnut fore-end riser block from Anschütz.

Anschütz 9015 Hunting for Hunter Field Target

Anschütz 9015 Hunting is great for Hunter Field Target. The light weight allows comfortable handling. In a lying position, it’s also no longer a disadvantage that the air rifle has no adjustable cheek piece. The cheek piece fits me perfectly and I can look through the scope comfortably with a high mount.

Since I ordered the fore-end for three position matches at a later date, I shot Anschütz 9015 Hunting without the optional fore-end and hamster for almost eight weeks. The air rifle is absolutely comfortable to hold in prone position. I didn’t miss anything.

Anschütz 9015 in standing position

Targets that were at the same level as me or below me were easy to shoot in a standing position. If you want to shoot uphill in a standing position, a fore-end riser is absolutely necessary. Otherwise it is almost impossible to hold the rifle comfortably.
Due to the low weight, longer sessions in uncomfortable positions are no problem.

My conclusion of Anschütz 9015 Hunting

The precision and the handling of Anschütz 9015 Hunting are hard to beat. I’ve never had an air rifle in my hands that made it so easy to get good shooting results. The workmanship, the materials used and the haptic are unbelievable.

The air rifle is also available in a 15 joules version. It is also possible to upgrade your F-rifle from Anschütz to a higher performance rifle. To do so, you will of course need a firearms ownership license (WBK) in Germany.

I hope I entertained you for a few minutes.

Thanks for reading and have a great week!

Yours, Andi
